Victor Smith

Victor is a full stack developer, with 1 year of experience in industry. He specializes in developing scalable full stack web applications using a variety of frameworks and technologies. He studied Computer Science and Mathematics at the University of Alberta before starting a position at a student start-up based in Edmonton, where he oversaw the re-design and implementation of the applications front-end.

When not working, Victor spends his time working on personal software projects, reading, attending Brazilian Jiu Jitsu & kickboxing classes, running and being with his girlfriend and cats.

While still in college was involved in building a Jeep from the frame up, engineering suspension and all the electrical wiring from scratch, along with numerous other design fabrication and testing.

On further occasion wiring up race cars for others. Home ownership brought some new challenges into designing and installing in-floor hydronic heating system, and a ventilation automation system, and other renovation projects.

Designed / build Eco Fridge system for off-grid, using cold air circulation. Design / build a vending machine, prototyping with 3D printer, programming microcontrollers, for cosmetics.

Started with computers in 1979 learning BASIC and ASM on a TRS-80. Worked with Radio Shack selling and demonstrating computers as a teenager and part-time at a video arcade doing basic repairs.

He is a member of a five-piece Celtic band and active in Calgary’s arts and entertainment community. His hobbies are running, weightlifting and travel.

Mike Anderson

Mike Anderson founded Connectus Global in January of 2018. Within his role, Mike is responsible for all the operations, company strategic R&D and the development path of Connectus. Prior to assuming his role Mike was president of Manderson Resources, an executive coaching company that held proprietary technology for propensity modeling and sales strategy for executives in large growth companies in Australia. Mike also holds the position on the board for Luna Glamping and an advisory board position with Sandy Feet retreat in Belize.

Previous to this Mike was the president of Schmike Cycles, Niche Outdoor Sports and Fort McKay Geo Analytics. Following an equity exit, Mike went to work at a global mining OEM and held positions such as Project Manager, Business Development Manager, and Global account manager with a focus on tier 1 EPCMs. In these roles, Mike’s responsibilities spanned from Alberta, US, Germany, Aruba, Venezuela and Asia specific with a special focus on Australia. Mike has led the development of an Ai solution to identify personnel in a hazardous environment alongside with asset tracking solution and electronic permit to work enterprise. Mike holds three trade tickets; Steamfitting/Pipefitting, B pressure Welder and Boilermaker certification. Mike also holds his ABSA level 4 Boiler Inspection and Trouble Shooting ticket, Steam System Design and level two Nuclear Leak Sealing certificate.

Dave Bukvic

In this role, Dave is responsible for leading client relationship management, growth plan strategy, and driving a strong sales culture within the organization. Prior to assuming this role Dave had previously held the position of Senior Vice President of Business Development with a prominent Industrial Construction and Maintenance Contractor located in Western Canada. Subsequent to his career in energy Dave has had a successful career in the hospitality industry as a co-proprietor of several notable food and beverage establishment in Southern Alberta. Dave came to the oil industry and rose through the ranks working hands-on with the heavy machinery as a roughneck in the drilling industry. Navigating through various fields in the energy sector his approach to business and people skills led him to have positions as Account Manager, Operations Manager, Marketing Director, Sales Manager and Senior Vice President of Business Development.

Dave also founded and lead the sales and marketing initiative for a startup of a large volume remote camp manufacturing entity overseeing both operations and sales as well of an oilfield equipment rental business a facility/pipeline construction company several years after. Dave’s experience in various fields has been an asset to both his personal growth and career advancements. Dave holds a diploma in applied Chemical Engineering Technology and graduated with a minor in finance. Dave is a strong believer in giving back to the community and currently is involved in donating his time and resources and several charities such as the Orphan Relief Foundation for Poland and WHOAS (Wild Horses of Alberta Society).

Norine Anderson

Norine’s strong leadership style allows her to excel in her role as Manager of the E-Permit to Work solution with Connectus Global. She takes her knowledge of 20 years in the Oil Sands and combines that with a background in teaching and human resources, as well as a passion for travel, giving her the drive to maximize this technology on a worldwide scale. Norine holds a certification in Children’s Mental Health, Early Childhood Development, Human Resources and Business Finance. Norine loves to travel and has been on every continent with a long list of global destinations still to explore. A love of adventure led to the partnership with Iguana Jungle Roost, a Glamping resort that she co-owns in San Ignacio, Belize. A busy husband, three sons and their wives, along with 5 grandchildren round out the package.

Kyle Anderson

Kyle is an accomplished Red Seal Journeyman Millwright with a background working in oil and gas, mining and manufacturing. He has worked all over the globe on successful projects. Kyle Joined Connectus in its infancy and has had the pleasure of helping it grow as his role has become more defined from RTLS Product Manager to Edge Device Manager.

Prior to joining Connectus, Kyle ran his own successful manufacturing company until an equity exit directed his path to edge devices. Kyle currently is responsible for the research and development of the Gen 2 watch for Connectus. When not working, he enjoys the outdoors, hunting, farming and being with his wife and dogs near a beach.

Abhinav Jain

Abhinav joined CSL Capital Management as Vice President after spending 10+ years in the oil and gas industry across a variety of functions such as investment banking, strategy consulting, field operations and portfolio company management.

Prior to joining CSL, Abhinav had been advising various oilfield services startups (such as Corva, Drill2Frac, SensOLeak, QuantumPro) and portfolio companies of several energy private equity groups (such as EV Private Equity, Total Energy Ventures, Energy Innovation Capital, Altira Group, Apollo Global Management, TPG). Prior to this role, he worked at PwC’s oil and gas investment banking group in Houston, providing M&A transaction services to middle-market oilfield services companies. In addition, he also worked with ConocoPhillips and Lazard’s oil and gas investment banking group in Houston, evaluating E&P investment opportunities and providing M&A transaction services to E&P and oilfield services clients respectively.

Abhinav’s oil and gas industry career started in 2009 in Norway with Fugro as an Offshore Seismic Engineer, after which he joined Schlumberger as a Wireline Field Engineer in the USA. Abhinav has a Bachelor of Technology in Electronics and Communications Engineering from NIT Durgapur in India and a Masters of Business Administration in energy finance from The University of Texas at Austin and London Business School (U.K.).

Abhinav also serves on the Energy Advisory Board of Rice Alliance for Technology and the Investment Committee of Houston Exponential.

David Steakly

David has been an active investor in early-stage companies since 2007. A co-founder of Texas HALO Fund, David serves on the Board of Directors of a number of his portfolio companies including HeatGen, Nexus AI and myLab Box. He is a past Chairman of the Houston Angel Network, recognized by the Angel Resource Institute as one of the most active angel networks in the nation. Previously, David was a Partner at Accenture, serving clients in the financial services industry, for almost 20 years. David studied Mathematics and American Studies at Williams College.

Sarah Anderson

Sarah has a 10 year successful career in Payroll Administration and Benefits Management. She joined Connectus Services Ltd in August 2019, and currently manages the Payroll department, and is heavily involved with the Finance and Accounting department.

She has held various positions with major IT companies, Colleges, the Government as well as in the service industry. Sarah loves travelling, going to the beach and has a passion for volunteering with different organizations. Sarah is also a co-owner of a glamping resort in Central America, Iguana Jungle Roost Ltd.
