Designation

Lead Lab Technician

I completed a Bachelor of Science in Biology while attending Brandon University on an athletic scholarship. I was lucky enough to be part of a top ranked Canadian volleyball program for 5 years, serving as team captain for 2 years. During my studies I received two Undergraduate Student Research Awards from the Natural Science and Engineering Research Council, this allowed me to expand on my education and apply it in a research setting. This opportunity led to the publishing of multiple peer reviewed articles surrounding the role of micro-RNA in breast cancer disease progression, and the investigation of miRNA as a possible biomarker for early breast cancer diagnostics. Following graduation, I took a year to pursue my athletic career, and I played volleyball professionally for a season in Austria before the COVID pandemic cut our season short. While the pandemic has halted my athletic career, it has given me the opportunity to combine both my passion for sports and science with the Connectus Global team.
